I am a psychiatrist and psychotherapist working in private practice in Portland, Oregon and completed both adult psychiatry residency and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Oregon Health and Science University. I work with school age children, adolescents, transitional age youth and adults. Areas of interest include depression, anxiety, ADHD and OCD and I use an integrated treatment model that includes both psychotherapy and medication. I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities including psychodynamic, CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy).
Prior to entering medical school I was a practicing artist and taught for 14 years at the high school and college levels. I still have an active studio practice and like to utilize drawing in my work with young people when it is suitable. During my fellowship at OHSU I developed an online-drawing training module for psychiatrists that was presented at the 2022 AADPRT Conference.
